You are invited to join Leading in Times of Change on August 15, 2020, from 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. EDT. If you're a church leader, sooner or later you will be required to lead change. And if you're a church that embraces the call to make disciples, you will be required to rethink how you do what you do.
But leading change also means a host of challenges, obstacles, and critics. In this, you are not alone!
This workshop will give you a roadmap to navigate the tumultuous landscape of leading congregational change, including insights and lessons learned from practitioners who have done the following:
- Shifted from insider-focused ministry to outsider-focused mission.
- Repurposed programs, committees, and activities that didn't support the mission.
- Retooled the governance structure and moved toward a staff-led model.
- Restarted a dying church of 80 people into a thriving church of more than1,000 people in 10 years.
These are principles, practices, skills, and models they don't teach you in seminary; yet it's definitely something you will encounter if you're a church leader (seminary-trained or not).
Learn how to navigate change effectively and deal with opposition gracefully. In doing so, your congregation will have a vibrancy that differs from maintaining the status quo. That vibrancy will inspire your church to be disciples who make disciples.
This workshop includes a three-hour video call where you have the opportunity to learn best practices, to learn about church leadership models, and to ask questions.
Following the workshop, each church will have a follow-up one-on-one video call with a consultant for a personalized strategy of how to implement what you have learned in your church.
Who should join?
This workshop is for pastors, church staff, consistory members, elders, and deacons who want their congregations to succeed in mission and want their church staff to succeed in leadership.
